In contrast to direct pushing data objects to a mobile device a middleman application is used to spool the data that is pushed from a server.
As an example a mobile phone connected to the internet using GPRS or 3G runs an application that receives data from a stationary server. The mobile application stores and spools that data until it is explicitely queried by a second mobile device, like a PDA.
